San Diego Museum Of Art by bananapancakes

I went to the San Diego Museum of Art to see the Annie Leibovitz exhibit (it is going to be there until April 22, 2007). The collection of photographs presented was larger than I expected it to be and I wasn’t disappointed. Many of her candid snapshots and posed photographs were amazing! There was an equal amount of Leibovitz family photos and photos of celebrities. Many of her family/personal photographs inspired and reminded me of why I took up this goal. The photos in the exhibit were separated between the years of 1990-2005, so it was displayed sort of like a timeline. Some of her family photos that I can still picture in my mind are those of her children (she gave birth to one of her daughters when she was in her 50s) and sister. The famous pictures of Demi Moore pregnant were at the exhibit…as well as many other recognizable ones, such as Chris Rock wearing make up (white) all over his face. I thought the photo of John Lennon and Yoko Ono was going to be there, but it wasn’t. There were also photographs of celebrities that I’ve never seen before. There was a section of the exhibit that had Leibovitz’s photos in a smaller size posted on a wall (behind glass casings) and I felt like I could’ve stayed in that room forever because all of the pictures were interesting!
