On a very warm ( freakin’ hot) louisiana summer Day, I was sitting around a small table on the deck of my favorite place in the world. A few close friends, myself, and my…well now he is my husband, were having a nice relaxing afternoon. We started talking about our futures, together and seperate. We decided we would always be together, so of course we celebrated this decision by all having yet another round of iced espresso drinks.
My memory becomes a bit fuzzy at this point, but some how we decided it would be a good idea to own a coffee shop of our very own one day. Then someone said what a shame that we would not be able to all meet at PERKS any more. One thing led to another, and we somehow managed to buy this amazing place and we all went into business together. Afew years have gone by. Years of youthful happiness, weddings, new babies, new friends and loss of old friends. But somehow, through it all we still meet on equal ground, out on the deck, seated at the “Captains” table at perks coffee and tea.
We have all put our heart and soul into this place, we will continue to do so. I belive that within those walls is the spirit of friendship, the spirit of the south, the SPIRIT OF LOUISIANA….BEAUTIFUL LOUISIANA.
