I have only ever seen the country in Missouri, which was a little too “Deliverance” for me. It was probably just an odd-ball experience though.

No dueling banjos in the city...
...you should go back and spend some time in downtown STL. I can’t say enough good things about it. Great shopping, great sports, great restaurants and great people. I agree that there are areas that are a bit too rural, but the city of St. Louis is a great time! Go birdies.
