Not worth visiting!

It's a tranquil city.

I’ve been here only once for a summer job. We stayed in a hotel for 2 days that had a decent view of the ‘sleeping giant’. It is a sight to behold, but I don’t know for what other reason I would come back to this out of the way city. Might be good if you were trying to run away from the law? I know.. I’m too hard on the city.. but seriously, it’s nice.. I just don’t know if I want to go there again because of the long journey.

I love this city. The people here are the friendliest I’ve ever met.

You must have been inside a box

to be able to travel 30 minutes to freshwater lakes and be able to fish and hunt in unpolluted areas is a +, not to mention the wonderful skiing, snowmobiling…if nature is what you want Thunder Bay and surrounding area is the place to go and I have heard this comment from quite a few people from the USA as I worked at the border in teh currency exchange for 2 summers

if you are looking for the nightlife and the excitment of a huge metropolitan city (sorry that’s not us)

so those who like living in cramped quarters, cities or in a box probably don’t appreciate the “North” for it’s wildlife, fresh air and people that aren’t rude and in a hurry!

we can drive to work in 30 minutes at most non of this 1 hour each way communiting BS

I'm from Northern Ontario too!

I’m a Timmins boy, so I know all about the relaxation, the nature, the northern ontario lifestyle. Love it.

For the 2 days I were there, I didn’t see much… but I can clearly remember the 12 hours of agony riding in a van to get there. It’s just SOOOO out of the way from anywhere. (Unless you are near the border) Why would any Ontario city dweller go any further than they need to to enjoy everything you just mentioned? =)

A city or a trip is what you make it

Sorry haven’t been to Timmins for years but I am almost 100% positive that Thunder Bay has a lot more to offer than Timmins would, perhaps you visited in an off time of year or didn’t have anyone to tell you about the highlights or the places to see an dthings to do like the suspension bridge, Kakabeka Falls, Old Fort William Historical park…Iknow that not all communities especially smaller ones have things going on constantly, but I will have to say I have lives here for almost 40 years and although there isn’t economic growth it’s a wonderful city and I amongst many others appreciate the fact that we don;t have smog and that we are not a RUSHED society.

I noticed that you have been to Montreal and Ottawa, and you HOPE to travel to Newy York, Japan, Paris and Tahiti...that's probably why you posted a negative comment, you are looking for titilating cities that have lots going on rather than peace, smog free and traquility!!
