Ochre

If anyone gets the chance to visit the ochre mines…GO! There’s one near the town of Apt which contains every beautiful shade of orange and purple imaginable. I was there during a rainstorm and it was fantastic.

yes, beautifual clors of the earth

and not too far from Roussillon. The clay there turns your hands these lovely colors of reds and oranges. Sez here that many of the early impressionists developed their colors here.
