its not racist at all…in fact, bedeuin arabs and druz as well as christians are all members of the israeli army…you just have to be an Israeli citizen…which is what most countries do! Only Muslim Arabs are not in the army…and i doubt they could care less! Also, Christians & Jews from all around the world are able to volunteer for some time in the army (but not in combat and such roles). So before you start throwing around the word racist, please make sure you’re informed enough to make sure a comment. Thank You!

Thanks. I deleted the first comment because it really had nothing to contribute to the discussion.
I’m Christian, but I’m also descended from Ashkenaz Jews on my father’s side and I suspect some of my mother’s people were Marrano (Hidden Jews in exile from Spain). I know something about the experience of the Diaspora, the suffering of the Jews as well as of other peoples, including the Holocaust. Therefore I long ago committed myself to the defense of the Jewish peoples as well as the defense of any human being who is experiencing cruelty, violence, injustice.

A brief definition concerning a few of the possibilites:

the IDF reserve is called milu’im…in order to get into the reserve service you would have to first go through at least basic training (usually minimum 3 weeks and up to 8 months) which changes with your age and family situation… but to tell you the truth, i don’t see a point in you enrolling in the IDF, they have enough soldiers, you would probably do more good defending israel in the international politics arena, which you probably do anyway and of course support the country by becoming a part of it (moving there)... israel definately needs more people who are willing to defend human rights (as you might have noticed)...
things can be a bit complex for non-jews to move there, but if you really want to it won’t bother you so much, once you’re there you’ll have lots of friends very quickly who will be more than happy to help you with everything and anything…
by the way, muslims are welcome in IDF if they choose to participate, mostly they choose not to, which is understandable..
