Worth visiting!
getting stuck in jaco — 1 year ago
jaco was like my first love. it was my first experience being out of the country solo style. everything felt amazing. i ended up falling head over heals with a group of people i met there. so, my trip was heighten by my encounters more than the city itself. don’t get me wrong. i loved jaco. i would get up early in the morning to take walks before the small beach town was awake.
jaco is the biggest coastal city in costa rica. it’s getting bigger, i hear. they are putting up more resorts, which is sad because it was a quaint little town.
the beach is wonderful. it’s surrounded by these mountainous cliffs and it holds the sandy beach in a cresent moon like embrace. there are so many roaming dogs .. most of them are really sweet and strangely street smart. they know when you want them to be around. unfortunately, the men don’t. it’s latin america, yo…the cat calls are endless so just get used to it.
there is a great place to play pool. they have tons of tables and i’ve spent countless hours there. i can’t think of the name of it right now but i’ll edit it back. beware, thou, seriously will play the same cd over and over and over again.
there are so many places to stay. we stayed in this small cabinas at the end of main road in jaco…again i can’t remember the name but it is seriously at the last inlet road off the main road. it’s near the backpackers surf cabinas. i guess i’ll have to edit that in, too.
