If you didn’t enjoy the Cave of the Mounds, I can understand why. It’s a very beautiful place, but it’s also very touristy and they’re very persnickety about just looking at it. I think you may enjoy a place like Eagle Cave, which is near the Blue River.

It’s an extremely hands-on environment and the guides actually encourage you to touch whatever you’d like. They even offer programs for kids to spend a night in the cave. This is accompanied by children running around, breaking off stalactites and jumping in a pool of freezing cave water. This proves how little they mind the use, and offer a more adventurous look at a cave.
