Not worth visiting!

There are better places to eat in the city

This place doesn’t really give you much bang for your buck. It has a bar but don’t bother with “complicated” drinks like Jack and coke stick to beers. The place has a lot of uppity older people and “artsy” kids. If you really feel like you want to surround yourself with a fake artistic atmosphere and over pay for the experience feel free to hit this place up. I will say that sometimes there are major suprises but those are spread out over long periods and personally not worth the attempt.

I completely agree!

Especially with the last part.

I live about 6 blocks from this place, so that probably explains why I go to Heartland Cafe more than I really want to. But, for the most part the food is bland, and the service isn’t that great. And for some reason, I keep going back. They must put some sort of hormone in their food that makes you remember them fondly :)

Sometimes it does surprise you… I had a schizophrenic eggs benedict there on New Years Day – like, one half of my eggs benedict was awesome! The other half was the worst eggs benedict I’ve ever had.
