The Mormons, more accurately known as The Church of Jesus of the Latter Day Saints, had settled here for a while. The local people , Christians supposedly, rose up against them and drove them out.

Nauvoo is today known for its agriculture, including its fine grapes, watermelons, and corn. Fishing and boating is good here too. Only, don’t underestimate the Mighty Mississip’!
