Sleepy Hollow
Worth visiting!
Home Sweet Home
It’s where I live now, I feel so lucky to be on the ground floor with a private back yard, My dog is probably one of the luckiest in Manhattan, since private yards are rare here.I am no longer visited by cats since they don’t find my fox terrier fun to play with.Squirrels are abundant in the maple and oak trees that border the brick perimeter walls, I observed morning doves nesting this summer and was pleased when I saw chipmunks doing what ever it is they do, I wish they’d come more often, but I don’t imagine they are common inhabitants of Manhattan. I observed an insect type creature when removing an old rotting wooden cable spool from the yard that looked like a cross between a centipede, scorpion, lion fish and alien life form that I still keep my eyes open for these UFO’s (Unidentified Forbidding oddities)I displaced an entire community , but have no idea where they relocated to. I just hope they are forgiving. The earth is rich with large worms and assorted earth dwelling critters, this is good, otherwise the ground would rot, this spring will be my second attempt at producing a lawn from seed, once I get the hang of gardening in this region , I’ll attempt to create a habitat for the local “wildlife” That still dwells silently and unnoticed by the towering high rises here on Manhattans Upper East Side
