I can't believe that so many car buffs outside of Detroit have never heard of this by Erik
To say that it’s the Sturgis of classic car gatherings would be an understatement, this thing’s f*ckin HUGE. It’s a 16-mile-long informal parade of classic cars along Woodward Avenue, and it’s like a 16-mile long party! During the best years, the official cruise day attendance has approached 2 million people, more than ten times the attendance of any sport event or concert. The locals around here either love it or despise it for the inconvenience it causes tying up the traffic in all the towns that Woodward Avenue runs through, and it helps some businesses and hurts others. I love it though! And most people here seem to love it. The official day is only one day, but the cruisers really start coming out en masse weeks before then.
