A question about this place:
Where are good places (i.e. restaurants, clubs, attractions etc.) to go to in Tokyo or in cities nearby? I want to go to Tokyo Disneyland. Is it worth it?  — 1 year ago

Oh gawd. There are 50 million restaurants, clubs and attractions in Tokyo and cities nearby. Where will you be? When? For how long? How are you getting around? But mostly, tell us what your interests and taste are, so we can probably help. Otherwise, the list is gonna be so long, isn’t going to fit on all the internets.

Uh… yeah, that’s a big question.

I’d suggest going on some websites for travelers… As bricology said, I’m not sure what you’re particularly interested in, but the highlight of my life in Tokyo was Akihabara. (Says what kind of person I am, don’t it?)
On that note, personally I think that the internet cafes justify a trans-ocean trip.

Anyway, regarding Tokyo Disneyland… if you like that sort of thing, you’ll love it. It’s always crowded, it’s ridiculously extravagant, and it sucks money like nobody’s business.
Personally, I hated it. At least it was better than Universal Studios Kyoto. (._.)

If you like shopping, become a born again devotee and visit Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Ginza, Roppongi (a disclaimer: please be wary while there as it is a Gaijin-trap), Odaiba…::trails off::
Big big big department stores, very fun if you can handle the deafening, “いらっしゃいませ”s. Very expensive (if you’ve not shopped at department stores), usually at least 12 floors high… Lots of couches, vending machines, and cafes. I suppose they assume you’ll be in there for a while… which you probably will.
In particular, I suggest Loft, Tokyu Hands, and the like.
Oh, Takeshita St in Harajuku is fun. Make sure you go on Saturday afternoons… and definitely bring a camera. :D

Too much typing not enough work getting done. jaa ne~

bricology- I cloned the internets… so maybe it can fit now? Quick-weaving net spiders ftw.

In my opinion, if you have already been to a Disneyland in the US, do not go to the Tokyo Disneyland. It is pretty much the same, aside from things being in Japanese. However, I was amazed by Tokyo Sea (which is right next to Disneyland). There are less kids there and you can drink beer (if that is something you like to do… Plus, it is gorgeous and an unbelievable experience.

As far as other things go: Roppongi is known for its clubs, so you should check out that area of Tokyo if you want to go clubbing. I have no specific suggestions because I havent been, but that is the word through the grapevine.

If you want to go shopping, check out Shibuya and Harajuku areas. I was just in Harajuku yesterday and it was really cool. For Electronic goods, Akihabara is the best. For upscale things, Ginza is the best.

Other suggestions I have: Ueno Zoo, Shinjuku, Asakusa.

Like others have said, it really depends on what you are looking for. Check on travel websites, some of them are pretty reliable. Also, I find the book series Lonely Planet realy informative.
