tragedy in the world  — 1 year ago

I was very young when we lived in sudan. My father was sent there for work. Though I don’t remember much Sudan had an enormous impact on me. The kind of things you see in Sudan are the type of things that mould and shape someone’s character. At a very young age I learnt about starvation and doing anything you had to do to get. None of this having anything to do with age. While living there I witnessed a young child, not more then 6 or 7, in a garbage dump fighting with the goats over what rotten scraps may be in the heap. This is a tragedy that no living thing should ever experience.
That one instant changed me forever and definitly shaped me as a helper. Someone who will do anything I can to help anyone I am able to help. All this to say, don’t take what you have for granted and do what you can to help those in need. Don’t just throw stuff away, there may be someone to whom your junk is treasor. Find the organizations and charities that are willing to deliver you junk to those who need it. Do what you can, you never know what tomorrow will bring. You may be the one thinking someone’s trash is your gold.
