The US is a very interesting place. After traveling around the world I now understand more clearly why people are so fascinated by it.

First of all the quality of life in the US is wonderful. It is a giant playground. There are so many things to see and do, as well as variety. Here you can travel for days and stay in the same country, yet experience something completely different in each passing city.

Foreigners always talk of how large things are in America, cars, homes, food portions… the list is endless.

Sometimes I feel guilty being an American (and no I did not vote for GW Bush), this is a country that when mentioned make me see hope in people’s faces. It is a land of dreams, of possibility, and a melting pot of cultures.

On the opposite side the US still has destitute cities (Detroit comes to mind), challenges, and tensions (visit the Bible belt and you will see what I mean).

The US will always be home for me, even though I do not live there currently. Not everything is wonderful there, however there is something for everyone!
