Escondido, California was home to me for 41 years and will remain “home” to me forever… Traveling east on 9th Ave, east of I-15, at the top of the hill & looking down into the valley on a spring morning, One realizes the meaning of beauty… & if anyone remembers the handwritten “AND 1” taped onto the “Welcome to Escondido-Population…” sign, south of Lake Hodges, in late November, 1988, well… I put that up there the day after my firstborn was brought into the world… I was surprised how long it was allowed to stay there too…lol
