Karri Valley is a gem in Western Australia. Tucked away from the beach and nestled in the Karri Forests, it has a charm of its own.

I bunked at the Karri Valley Resort sometime back and was blown away by the tranquility and silence of the place. You get balconies that stretch out over the lake where you can watch fishes swim under your feet! You can rent open kayaks in the day, go for a short bushwalk in the wee hours of the morning or seek out kangeroos at night.

Rather tough place to get to without a car, but otherwise dreamy!
