I don’t know if anyone’s said this or not, but try some of the hostels. As long as you don’t want it to be formal there’s a possibility of a lot of travelers at hostels around the new years. Or there were when I was there.

Oh that’s a good suggestion, didn’t think of that, not don’t want it to be formal.
In fact last year about 25 of us stayed in the Generator hostel for New Years and slept over and used their bar, but it’s already fully booked out (all 800 beds)
The place in London bridge is amazing, and has a huge underground section that could be turned into a disco, actually now that I think about it there’s also a gym next door as well, so maybe they have members that are interested.
But I want to have an event where people can actually chat to each other and get to know each other. And organise a Buffet and then some music and disco lights. Not just go to some club where people are totally packed in and it’s so loud you struggle to hear the person next to you.
