Worth visiting!
Untitled
On my trip to Andros I lived on a boat called De ja vu, from ForFar Field Station in Fresh Creek. Living out at sea, and of the reef was awesome, as was the research we did there. There is now a resort there that has been built since we left a few years ago, I have heard that it is worth the trip. Advice: take dramamine, keep your eyes open for sharks; it’s awesome when you get to see one, and always watch the sunrises and sunsets. Oh… and mahi mahi is stinken good, so go catch some after you visit androsia and the bahamian peiole inland.
Andros, the largest island in The Bahamas, draws divers from around the world to its barrier reef and the world’s largest concentration of blue holes. Andros is also an angler’s heaven. Billed as the “Bonefishing Capital of the World”, this is the place to pit your skills against the wily and hard-fighting bonefish. This is also the home of Androsia – a Bahamian batik fabric – that is made into colourful wall hangings and clothing that are sold throughout The Bahamas and the Caribbean.
Attractions include Andros Barrier Reef – third largest in the world, Over the Wall dive at Fresh Creek, Captain Bill’s blue hole, Andros Batik Factory, Red Bays Village
