There's more to it than I thought there would be by catherineaq

I thought this would be a tiny museum within Harvard. It’s got much more to it than I thought! I went with a visiting college friend, and we really enjoyed the glass flowers. The rocks and meteorites were also cool, and many of the fossils and animals were fascinating. Some exhibits are nicely updated, while others were old and dusty-looking. I’ll go again with my son, as it contains many things he’d enjoy. On Sundays from 9-12 it is free to MA residents, so that is probably when we’ll go.

Glass flowers!

Oh, I loved those when I lived there! I think the process used to make them has been lost—does that sound right? They were beautiful.

I don’t remember much else about the museum, but thanks for reminding me of those gorgeous glass flowers. . . .

2 brothers (?) did them

(or father/son?) and they are long deceased, so even if people have the idea of it, they might not have the skill. Or the patience and steady hands? They are gorgeous!

I wish I'd known

about this place when I lived in Cambridge. It sounds interesting!

out of town visitors

When my best friend from college comes to visit, I always end up getting out to places that I wouldn’t see if left on my own! I am always thrilled to have her visit for that reason as well as because I’m glad to see her!
