Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

In college, I was in Model UN for a year (DORK!) and my team went to New York to participate in the National Model UN conference. We spent most of our days hashing out things in the beauty of the Hilton hotel, but on our last day all the delegates went to the UN for our final meeting. It was amazing to be a pretend diplomat in the same place where actual diplomats work.

Kofi Annan gets me all fangirly. (DORK!) I have a (very dark) picture of me looking exaggeratedly pensive and intense from behind the very podium where my beloved Kofi speaks.

Yay dorks.

(hey, thanks for the cheers) So what is it about Kofi that gets you?

I think Kofi Annan is one of the best diplomats the world has today. And good diplomacy is nothing to sniff at these days. He also seems to have a really genial personality, which I guess is a big part of being a good diplomat. He is unafraid to disagree with the U.S., which, if I may be so bold as to say, is something the U.S. needs every now and again.

And for a totally girly reason, he is from Ghana, as is my boyfriend, and his accent makes me very happy when I hear it on the news.
