I don’t know about “safest” because I never saw Parque del Este but I used Expresos Flamingo to go from Terminal La Bandera to Merida on my first day in Venezuela. I was happy with the choice. Really, I was much less worried about anything inside the bus terminal than I was about all the people offering to help me when I walked out of the airport. Be prepared to be harrassed outside of the airport, be capable of carrying all your own luggage and if you need help it’s probably best to ask one of the tour operators in the much quieter domestic terminal (get info on one of their trips, listen interestedly, and then ask them to get you a taxi). It went well for me…in fact my taxi driver was really nice and pointed out all sorts of things along the way. The ride to the bus terminal is about 40 minutes. Enjoy Venezuela!

Parque del Este is the safest, besides, you get to the main subway line just there, and compared to la bandera, parque del este is much easier to figure out, like the exit, where to take the subway, etc.

no doubt, go for parque del este, I go to Venezuela once a year to visit my family and for sure parque del este is the best option, is a small terminal, very small and safer than la bandera….wish you the best
