In a former life I used to travel to St. Lucia a fair amount. I went back in August 06 after not having been there for a good 6 years or so. As I stepped out of the customs hall at Hewanorra Airport a big, burly taxi driver said, “Welcome home!” The story I have chosen to believe is that he recognised me after all those years. The things is though, as I made the drive from the south of the island up to the north, I did feel as if I were “home.”
