Alexian Field, home to the Flyers and the annoying children by Matt Maldre
My girlfriend and I went here for a Saturday Night game. Full crowd. And many annoying children. The Flyers heavily promote their party package resulting in large groups of children attending the game. Which sounds alright. But the parents of these children have a hard time managing them resulting in lots of obnoxious behavior. My girlfriend and I sat in three different sections that night until finally finding a peaceful area. I expect games to be rowdy with fans yelling, but the kids here are just crazy. i.e. throwing food, playing with thundersticks, etc.
Other than that, the ballpark is very nice. Ample parking. There’s a fun “see how fast you can throw” booth in Left Field. The team pretty much… well, don’t expect any of the players to hit the majors. This is an independent team, and barely any of the players have made it to the real minors with none even getting close to the Majors. But it’s a nice place to see players who are there to enjoy playing the game.
