Worth visiting!

A question about this place:
i am going to go there this summer 2007, do any of you know where i can find a local guide for the northern eastern jungle??? i do not want a guide paid by an agency, i want a local independent guide... any ideas??? clement  — 1 year ago

I woulg go to San Ignacio, have a beer in a couple of the local bars and talk to people. I found someone to guide me after being there for about an hour.

thanks but..do you think i could get a local guide that i could pay daily(cheap hopefully) and is it allowed to camp in the forest?? i would love to do 5 day 4 nights in the jungle..with no particular destination, just hiking to natural wonders.. do you thing this would be possible?

San Ignacio would be a great place to find a guide. I would also suggest that you contact Manuel at Popeye’s Resort on Caye Caulker. He was VERY helpful. He might know someone and he emails regularly.
