Worth visiting!

Lavender Cottage in Hsinchu County

I celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival this year with some friends and co-workers. They were nice enough to include my fiance and I on a family day outing to Lavender Cottage in Hsinchu County. This is a lovely place to go if you want to get out of the city for the day. It’s easily accessible by car, train or scooter and opens daily at 10am. We spent the morning walking around the grounds and admiring all the wild flowers. The mountain scenery is breathtaking and the fresh, clean air will lift any soul. There are trees to sit under and picnic tables to dine at. Take a walk through a small bamboo grove or make a wish at one of several wish trees. It’s a splendid way to enjoy being outside for the day.

Wishing trees!

I hope you made a lot of wishes!

Lavender Cottage sounds wonderful. I’ve only had a few days of exposure to China, but my appetite is whetted… lots of great places to see here and in Taiwan. And Bhutan. And on and on

I did make quite a few wishes

for family and friends. As for myself, I have everything I need, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time off! I hope your trip to Xi’an was a success. I’d love to hear your thoughts and comments when you have the time.

Generous

I haven’t yet been to Xi’an… that’s next week. Right now I’m still at work in Xuzhou.

Although it was unintentional, I think this arrangement works out well, because I’m taking care of a certain amount of culture shock and getting a bit accustomed to Chinese life before going on vacation.

I’ll definitely share some thoughts after my visit. In the meantime, best wishes.
