Not worth visiting!
My only real experience with the Philippines deals with Subic Bay Naval Base (now closed) and the adult Disneyland outside its gates that was Olongapo.
I’m a different man now and I wouldn’t want to return to a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah like that.

If you were weak enough to fall prey to prostitution, do not generalize by likening THE ENTIRE COUNTRY to Sodom and Gomorrah! That is just pure ignorance and naivete.
In case you didn’t know, Joe, there is prostitution every where, in every country because of the hardness and severity of life. Its people who frequent THE RED LIGHT DISTRINCT, WHO ARE TO BLAME AND NOT THE ENTIRE COUNTRY!
Like i suggested to Ms. Thai girl, you ought to look up the concept of HASTY GENERALIZATIONS, or better yet, go back to College and take up Philo 1 again.
The next time you liken an entire country to a passage in the bible, i suggest you seek advice from your pastor, elder or whatever it is you call them in your religion and ask him if you are just being a tad SELF RIGHTEOUS.

Do you really deny that the city of Olongapo was once known for its bars, strip clubs and brothels? Is the city of Olongapo the same thing as the entire country of the Philippines?
I clearly stated that my experience was limited to a small area and that since I no longer find bars, strip clubs and brothels interesting, I didn’t think I’d like to return to the country. I’m sure the people are nice and there are plenty of beautiful and interesting places to go in your country, but my limited experiences there weren’t worthy of recommending it to others, that’s why I rated it as I did.
Unfortunately, 43 Places only has “Worth it!” and “Not Worth It!” ratings, and not “I’m Indifferent” or “I’m Sure It’s Nice, but My Experiences There Probably aren’t Indicative of the Entire Country” ratings.

And oh it was to your own admission that Olongapo WAS YOUR ONLY REAL EXPERIENCE IN THE PHILIPPINES. Talk about sheer ignorance.

the country again. Subic in particular is no longer the honky tonk bars it’s known for. Soon, the Clark-Subic Rd will be finished and both former US bases are fast becoming growth areas for business.
