Doing time in the Bastille

I’ve seen four opera performances at the Bastille:

1997
  • Giacomo Puccini’s Turandot with Sharon Sweet, Sergei Larin, Barbara Frittoli, and Robert Lloyd; Georges Pretre, conductor.
  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with Ildebrando d’Arcangelo, Barbara Bonney, Soile Isokoski, Anthony Michaels-Moore, and Charlotte Hellekant; James Conlon, conductor.
2005
  • Peter Illyich Tchaikovsky’s La Dame de Pique with Vladmir Galouzine, Hasmik Papian, Irina Bogatcheva; Gennadi Rozhdestvensky, conductor.
  • Leos Janacek’s From the House of the Dead with Jerry Hadley and Jose Van Dam; Marc Albrecht, conductor.
