Chania/Xania/Hania is a beautiful little seaside town with enough nightlife for people who want to go out and do some dancing, but quiet enough for a romantic getaway. I’ve been back here several times and I always find a new romantic little restaurant and there’s a gorgeous view of deep blue Mediterranean waters from anywhere you stand. There’s good, cheap shopping for bargain hunters and a variety of styles of food for people who can’t stand eating one type of food every night. The area is a wonderful mix of old and young, with Scandanavian holiday makers and with Chania being one of the oldest cities, there are beautiful historical sites all around. Downtown there’s a little jewelry shop that has been in one family for hundreds of years, beautiful gold with intricate Greek designs, its right off the downtown seaside shopping, across from an ATM, check it out (wish I could remember the name). Visit Chania, you certainly won’t regret it if you’re looking for a sweet little seaside town with history, shopping, entertainment, and great food -
