Worth visiting!

lucky

at approximately 8:30 am, I walk up to this geyser. the sign says it may go off between 8:00 and 12:00. I begin reading the sign that says that the geyser begins to gurgle and push waves over the basin before it goes off. as I read this, the geyser begins to gurgle. I’m not too excited, as I know other geysers can give such indications for hours before they actually go off. But then I read the next sentence on the sign, which goes something like “within seconds the geyser explodes” happily I stand back, and no sooner than I can tell my husband, “it’s gonna go” than boom! water and steam shoot high into the sky. Incredible. Incredible luck.

Saw the original 'Geysir' in Iceland

and I was lucky to see it erupt as much as it does these days. The strokkur geyser just next to it does a much more dramatic display – every 15-30 minutes.. amazing and powerful
