Worth visiting!

Discussion: Bumbershoot  — 1 year ago

So does anybody have any blueprints or war plans for this weekend?

Given the busy September, I’m trying to take it easy for Bumbershoot this time around, yet I’m realizing there is so much I want to see, now that it’s right in front of me.

Anyone seen Blondie, Kanye, or ATCQ lately? Does anyone want to give a thumbs-up, thumbs-down to each and sum up why you’d give the rating?

I’m very familiar with all three’s work, but have never seen them live. At the same time, there are other things I’d rather do this weekend than wake up early and try to get wristbands three days in a row.

Surviving Bumbershoot

I am not missing ATCQ. They’ve spent the better part of the last decade broken up, so I wouldn’t miss that. As for Kanye and Blondie, I’m a little more iffy, however, I learned with the Pixies that you don’t really have to show up early to get the wristband. You can get one from someone leaving. I ended up with two wristbands and I didn’t even show up to B’shoot that year until around 6pm. So you can make it manageable. Other than that, I’m taking a bag with some aspirin, earplugs, bottled water, and fruit, and just rocking out all weekend.

The Metblogs survival guide is good too – http://seattle.metblogs.com/archives/2006/08/recycled_bumber.phtml
