The most interesting thing about Burgh Island is that it’s not really an island until the tide comes in. When it does, you access the hotel by crossing the water in a “sea tractor.” It’s the most unusual contraption you’ll every ride in.

The hotel, while lovely, is a little past its glory days and could use some sprucing up. The grounds are beautiful and a very nice place to sit and think.
