A clean island... by kiwisparkle

It’s fairly clean and unpolluted – except the water at Seven Mile Beach had a strange, fishy, oily smell, unlike anything I’ve ever smelled at a beach before. Maybe it was just the section of beach we were at… it was beautiful though, and happily uncrowded.

Shopping was expensive here too. I don’t know, I guess I’m just not in the market for a new Rolex, or maybe that $70 lunch for two at Breezes (for a drink, an app, and two entrees) seemed a bit high.

Well, I was only there for one day. It was nice, but maybe I needed to explore more to get a better taste of Grand Cayman.

Cayman Islands

Cayman Resident

Visit the other two islands the next time you return. Cayman Brac and Little Cayman are as beautiful as Grand Cayman but much quieter and more pristine. Safe and relaxing, too! The prices ARE too high, but there are so many good things about the Caymans. If you can put it into perspective (living on a small island in the Caribbean everything has to be imported pretty much) it helps you understand the cost of living better.
