Worth visiting!

A world of its own

I was fascinated by the catacombs, the walls of Vatican City, and the square. The Vatican Museum oddly felt like a series of storage rooms and the Sistine Chapel did not move me as expected. Really, it was the environment of the square, the pure motivations of the place which makes it a singular experience.

Technically

... it is considered Rome (except the interiors of the Basilica and the Museum), because the secular City Hall pays for its maintanance, and because the core of the Vatican City can’t be entered without permission: Schengen treaty doesn’t apply to Vatican.

So much to keep our men-in-white happy, uh?
