Oh.., maybe you are not aware that you ctually don’t need to get a job or citizenship first in order to buy property there in Australia!...Alot of us(Singaporeans) have bought apartments or houses from there, usually Sydney or Melbourne, we have done so since the 80s(Australia is quite closed to us)..The property co there advertised quite heavily on our local papers here, esp so in the 90s!

But most of us bought mainly for investments reason, as some apartments even guarantee rental up to 10 yrs, esp those kind of hotel style residental suites do provide free accomodation (either your own purchase apt or other vacant room) when we visit Australia again!

The apartments or houses there are opened for foreigners to purchase, you don’t need to be a resident or have a job there to purchase! The only inconvenience thing is when we sell them off , we are only allowed to sell to the locals(australians) not foreigners =)

P.S. Just thought that since you have been there 5 times and called it a second home and so probably have bought an apt by then :)
