Worth visiting!

Kayaking on Johnstone Strait/Robsen Bight

A most beautiful place. We camped on the shore overlooking the Strait. The scenery changed every time you looked at it. Orcas, porpoises, bald eagles, seals…this place has it all!

Traveled with Spirit of the West outfitters, the best on Quadra Island.

Kayaking

Oh, it was absolutely worth it. Apparently I neglected to check that.

Sorry.

I Just updated it.

We actually had a bear and her two cubs nearby. One of our group got just the most awesome video of it. Hope to get it from him and post it later.

Weather was very nice. I’d check out Spirit of the West (kayaktours.com). Fly to Campbell River, BC, get there in the AM, grab the ferry to Quadra Island ($6-something Canadian, free on the return), book a room at the Herriot Bey Inn, which is about 400 meters from spirit of the West.

They have a “Mother Ship” tour which is five days I think. You kayak during the day and sleep and eat on a ship. You get to see a different area everyday. It’s more expensive, but I think next year I ma do that one. But, the camping one is fantastic. You can’t go wrong. IMO.
