Worth visiting!
Not far from the Dead Sea there is an oasis, where some intrepid Israelis established a kibbutz. Nowadays it is a guesthouse (basic but comfortable) and it also serves a spa on the banks of the Dead sea.
Very pleasant, and has the added bonus of an incredible night sky.

One of the most beautiful places I have ever encountered was about a 40 minute walk from the pools of Ein Gedi. I believe it was called King David’s Pool.
It felt like I was in Tahiti. Lush palms at the top of a canyon and a deep fresh water pool. Dive in and go underneath into a cave. Look down the canyon and you see the Judean desert. An experience in extreme contrasts.
The last time I was there was in the mid 1970s.
