For someone who has now been ‘Too Long in Exile’ to quote Van Morrison, this place remains one of my favourites. On a peninsula sticking out into Strangford Lough, this ancient monastic site was a fantastic place to visit: peaceful, secluded, and at 4:00am always had birds singing. It’s not so far away from the other evocative places Van Morrison sings about in ‘Coney Island’.
