A rumor about this place

I understand that a number of the original inhabitants of Pitcairn Island were relocated to this island a number of years ago. A large share of the population here are descendants of the Bounty mutineers.

The story of the Bounty...

...is as good as the story of Shackleton. Maybe better. At least it is more mysterious. And, you don’t have to brave floe ice and arctic gales to visit the places involved. (Hopefully, if you sailed to Pitcairn Island, the crew of the ship would not mutiny on the way and put you to out to sea in a small boat, but at least there probably aren’t as many cannibals on Pacific Islands these days.)

I'm sure you can tell already

But I have kind of a fascination with small islands that have a bit of history behind them.

Thanks for arousing my interest in this story. Now I want to do some more reading on this topic.
