Worth visiting!
A review of this place
Marine World is still worth a visit. I remember when it was called Marine World Africa USA. I think it was better then. Less theme park, more nature.

I remember that. My parents used to take us there a lot when we were little. I loved petting the dolphins.

i remember when...
it was across the bay in (i think) south sf. that’s when i first started going… it was a cross of zoo/animal rescue type place. i l-o-v-e-d it!
i’ve heard that now it’s just a six flags type place… they must not have all the animals anymore b/c i imagine the roar of roller coasters and would make the lions go roar!
ps – i still remember the “marine world africa usa” song from the commercial!

Marine World Africa USA!
Just stumbled across this and it brought back some great memories. I believe it was located in Redwood City when I would go as a kid growing up in San Jose.
I have a distinct memory of this guy crouching down showing too much crack and my granddad flipped a cigarette butt down the back of the guy’s pants. You should have seen him dance! Poor fellow didn’t know what the hell was going on!
And of course the elephant rides were a blast, too…
