Just want to share a little world knowledge..
Ahem, Japan is definitely NOT 200 yrs ahead of us..Those who don’t travel much seem to base on what they were told or heard long ago or seen from the hollywood movies?..So many have stereotyped it. There are so many countries already caught up with them since the 80s, even in Asia, countries like South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore(These are the 4 economic success stories in asia). The world does change everyday, and even 10, 20yrs feel just like yesterday.
So what we know about Japan in the 50’s or 60s doesn’t mean they or the rest of the world including Asia, remain the same as of today :)
However, I must say their digital animation and “some” of their technology still lead the world, but countries like South Korea is fast catching up to be in the lead here in Asia(esp in their film industry). Both Japan, China and even South Korea are BIG countries, hence they’re the leading economic in Asia, as compared to Singapore(the smallest country in Asia, and one of the smallest in the world)..But in terms of free market economies, both Singapore and Hong Kong have been leading the way since mid 90s..If you have been to Asia, you will know how competitive it is over here for the last 20yrs =)
That said, it’s definitely still worth the visit to Japan, esp for the art and culture differences!!
