Worth visiting!

A Wonderful Place to Live or Visit

I’ve spent nearly all my life here in Nova Scotia and out of all the places in North America I still find it the most exciting and beautiful place to explore. There’s a wealth of cultural and geographical wonder here as well as our famous friendliness; I would encourage everyone to take the time to visit if given the chance.

I’m planning on traveling there this summer and I was wondering if you might recommend an area… or perhaps a drive. I was thinking of doing the Scoita Glooscap Trail. Is this a good choice? I am much more interested in nature and history then in little shops. Thank you so much for your help

My favourite part of the province is the area surrounding Parrsboro (on the Glooscap Trail). I’d highly recommend visiting the beaches there if at all possible to see the wonderful diversity they hold. Ottawa House Museum and the Fundy Geological Museum are both very enjoyable sites to visit. The Ship’s Company Theatre (http://www.shipscompany.com) is something you might also want to explore if you make it to Parrsboro. Not far from there is Hidden Falls, one of my favourite sites in the province, which is looked after by a local artist (she does some terrific fantasy paintings and ceramic work) and her children.
Otherwise, I can’t say enough about my home city of Halifax. It has a rich history and plenty to explore in parks, historic sites and museums. The waterfront holds a busker festival later in the summer that is always fun.
Visiting Cape Breton at the far end of the province is definitely worth doing as well. It’s very beautiful, among the most impressive scenic regions in Canada. The people there tend to be lively, welcoming and culturally facinating.
I hope you will enjoy your visit here. If there’s anything more you’d like to know, feel free to ask.

travelling to Nova Scotia

My husband and I are planning a week long trip to Nova Scotia this summer. We’d like to do a lot of hiking and camping just not sure where the best place to go. We’d also like to check out Prince Edward Island and Cape Breton (?). Basically we want to check out as much as we can, camp and hike and make the most of the 7 days we have. any suggestions?
