Worth visiting!

A review of this place: Hidden Beauty

Cornered between Borough Market, London Bridge and the row of office buildings on the Thames waterfront, Southwark Cathedral is very seldom seen by visitors. This is a shame as this building, part of which dates from the twelfth century, is in my opinion one of the most beautiful in London. It has a majesty and beauty on a par with St Paul’s and Westminter Abbey, while keeping a human scale.

A feeling of Peace

Southwark Cathedral is one of the few places in London you can escape to for some ‘peace & quiet’, even though there’s a world of hustle and bustle surrounding it. I think it’s better than St Paul’s & Westminster, purely because it’s more intimate and has a serenity that the others don’t. Thanks for reminding me – I should go more often!
