Why I want to go to this place

I’ve heard so many stories about the french people hating americans and treating people who don’t speak french badly, and I definetly do not speak french! But still, Paris looks like such a beautiful place. I think it’s one of those things that I need to go and see and judge for myself!

I have heard the same thing, my cousin went to Quebec and he said they refused to speak English eventought they knew English. They told him “go back to Toronto and speak English there” he hated it so much so he moved the hell outta there. Now he is in British Columbia.

My friend (she is American), actually 2 of my friends went to Paris and they were very rude to them because they had an accent.

Anyways, that is what I heard …

Wow, that’s really rude! I think it’s sad that people behave that way; life’s too short to be angry and rude to people.

It’s because of stories like that that I think I’ll put off going to Paris until much later on, once I’ve spent my money going places where the people are friendlier. There are so many beautiful places in the world, I just don’t see why I would want to waste my time going somewhere where people will only be rude to me and treat me badly.

I haven't met a rude Frenchman yet!

I have been to Paris and found that people there are really no different in general than anywhere else.

Oftentimes we Americans fail to take the effort to learn another language, with the expectation that the rest of the world must learn English if they wish to communicate with us.

Even though my ability to speak French is extremely limited, no more than a handful of words and simple phrases, I found in Paris that even an attempt on my part to speak a few words of French paid off in great dividends. People were really helpful to me. They would try to speak whatever English they knew or would at least try to write or sign in an effort to communicate.

A lot of the time the attitude that you receive from others depends on the attitude which you project to them.

Speaking personally, my experiences with French people have been quite positive for the most part. They are some of the kindest people that I have met.
