My college roommates were sisters from Jo’burg and I was able to go down for one’s wedding in 2001. We visited Thornybush game reserve and saw the Big 5 on dawn and dusk drives. At night it was so absolutely dark—I’ve never seen so many stars! We also spent a couple days in Capetown visiting wineries and the cape. We got to experience why it’s often called “the cape of storms.” :) The view from Table Mountain is gorgeous!
