Go Hanna. Rio is awesome. With basic precautions (no flashy and fancy jewelries, and wondering into unknown places) you will be safe. Brazilians are one of friendliest and approachable people on earth. You’ll be plenty busy spurning off all these Cariocas sure to flirt with you.
There are lots of beaches to explore and shopping in Rio is fantastic for someone accostumed to Euros. Since Rio’s culture is based on beach, you will see amazingly beautiful bodies. Food is great too. Rich in flavor and diversity. Try visiting Parati city few hours south of Rio while you are there. It helps to know Spanish since Brazilians are quick to understand it.

simple tip! everything will be overpriced on the beach! you can get it for a third of what they advertising!
