I recently returned from a NOLS course that took place primarily in the Absaroka Mountain range. It was amazing up there! The Absarokas are one of the few volcanic ranges in the Rockies, the rocks look totally different than you would expect (lots of Breccia). We saw incredible wildlife: so many moose, enormous porcupine, and grouse like you wouldn’t believe. The bear prints were HUGE, but unfortunatly there were no bear sightings. The Absarokas are incredible and I highly recommend spending some time in them.
