43 Places News and Announcements

Worth visiting!

Discussion: Tweaks to the profile page  — 2 years ago

We are still tweaking the new profile page, but we pushed out a few changes today. We added the list back along with the functional links (we sort of forgot about those links, sorry). We also added a little bit of photo love over on the right. You wouldn’t know it (because we haven’t explained it) but the 12 photos are sorted by your cheers – so you can see which spots people think you ought to visit. We also moved the travel map up a bit (but not much).

We know change is never easy, but our goal is to make the site simpler to use and understand, even as it grows in features. Let us know if you think this is getting better.

I miss them too, but ever since we’ve had the 43 people site, I’ve lobbied for people’s flickr photos to live over there rather than on 43 things/places. Since the stream of photos doesn’t necessarily relate to the person’s goals or exploration, but does relate to the person, it seems to me that 43people.com would be the natural home for the flickr stream. Thoughts?

I’m mad at Flickr but I think this is a brilliant idea.

Which takes forever

The Robots have photo linking now, but uploading, say, 60 great pictures of a place by downloading it from Flickr and then re-uploading takes forever…

A great “link some photos from Flickr” would be fantastic…but would also be specific to only the Flickr service, which not everyone uses.

Oh where are the Greasemonkey Robot Script creators…
