I went to South Korea to teach and ended up staying four years! If you’re only going to visit, I suggest going in spring and checking out Buddha’s Birthday which is usually in the first two weeks of May. It’s really quite a magical experience. Although, the temples in the mountains are great any time of year. I also suggest checking out Chejudo. Even though it’s the ‘honeymoon’ capital of Korea, it is really beautiful—and if you can, get yourself up really early in the morning and walk up the crater on the eastern side of the island to watch the sunrise. Fabulous!
