Worth visiting!

One word....WOW — 2 years ago

I went to Belize a couple weeks ago, got home last night, and was just thinking about all I saw and did. What an amazing country, the terrain is gorgeous throughout, although many don’t see the interior. We drove all around and got to experience it, and I’m so glad we did. Of course the diving and the ocean was great too! The people are so friendly and welcoming, and on this particular trip, all the tourists we ended up meeting were fantastic. I think I had a permasmile the whole time I was there. I can’t wait to go back and spend more time there.

hotel etc

Can you name a few of the places you stayed (if you remember) the first couple of days?? My friend and I are trying to find a place to stay the first night and we leave in two weeks! We are so excited to go to Belize!

Belizean Shores

The minute we got to Belize airport, we hopped on another plane to Ambergris Caye (15 minute flight). Much better than Belize City. We stayed at a place called the Belizean Shores, which was a great hotel about three and a half miles from the center of San Pedro. We got an amazing rate through expedia.com, so I would try there first rather than through the hotel itself. The hotel has a fantastic pool, a place that sets you up with all sorts of tours (diving, cave-tubing, zip-lining, etc.) It also has a good restaurant and bike and golfcart rentals to get to town. Or you can take the water taxi to town. In Placencia we stayed in the Maya Beach Hotel, and we also went to San Ignacio. I don’t know where you’re planning to go, but let me know and I can give you some recommendations for the places I have been.
